Swimming is good exercise and the beauty of swimming on a summer day cannot be praised too much, but the news on drownings in summer are always sad to read. The ability to swim is an extremely important civic skill. That is why Helsinki Society of Engineers is now offering its members a discount on private adult swimming lessons.

As a member of HI, you can choose a swimming course that suits your schedule from the selection of FitPit Oy. The company has been teaching swimming to adults and children of all ages and levels in the Helsinki metropolitan area since 2015. Private pool facilities are used, so there are no other public customers swimming in the pools during the courses, and you can focus on your own learning in peace. The groups are small to allow for individual guidance and coaching.

Members of Helsinki Society of Engineers can participate in adult beginner groups:
•    Adult Beginners
     Skill requirement: participation does not require previous swimming experience.
     Also suitable for adults who are excited or afraid of swimming.
•    Adult Beginners
     Skill requirement: at least 5–10 m swimming continuously in your own style.
•    Beginners level 1 and 2 (instruction in English)

Private pools are available for courses in Pasila and Käpylä, Helsinki, and Kilo, Espoo. Only the organizing company's own groups swim in the pools at a time, so the learning environment is calm and safe even for those who are nervous about water or group situations.
